They recited the Holy Quran many times with their fingertips

Although 55-year-old Fatma Çetin, who was visually impaired from birth, and her 57-year-old sister Türkan Alçin tried to benefit from online voice training to learn how to read the Holy Quran, they could not complete the learning process.

The two brothers, who learned that a course was opened for the visually impaired by the Adana Mufti's Office, attended the Abdulbaki-Fatma Siverekli Girls' Quran Course in Çukurova district in 2021.

The two brothers, who learned the Arabic Braille alphabet in the course, started reading the Braille Quran by tracing it with their fingertips in about a year.

Of the two brothers, Çetin has memorized the Holy Quran 7 times and his older sister Alçin 8 times.

The two brothers, who continue to attend the course 2 days a week with the help of the Quran course instructor Şule Taş, set an example for other trainees with their determination.

Türkan Alçin said that after the death of their father, he started learning to read the Quran.

Explaining that he learned to read the Quran thanks to the education he received in the course environment, Alçin continued as follows:

"I can't see, but I read the Quran. I read with my hands, my hands are my eyes. At first, I had a little difficulty, I had fears, but thank God, I met my teacher Şule. Thanks to her, I learned to read. Now I can read very well."
