Çubuk pickle is among the world's delicacies with its 45 varieties.

Çubuk district of Ankara, known as the "Çukurova of Central Anatolia" due to its fertile and flat agricultural lands, is known in many parts of the world for its pickles.

"Çubuk pickle", which is almost identified with the district, is produced in Çubuk Homemade Pickle Production Facility, established in partnership with the municipality and Ankara Development Agency. Çubuk pickle, which is produced in the summer months, takes its place on the shelves in the autumn and winter months and meets its buyers.

While pickle lovers mostly prefer pickled cucumbers, 45 types of pickles are made in the district, including cabbage, eggplant, carrots, corn, tangerine and banana.

Çubuk Mayor Baki Demirbaş said that they describe Çubuk pickles as "green gold".

Pointing out that the pickle, which received a geographical indication registration from the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2008 and applied for registration to the European Union, has become a brand, Demirbaş said, "Our stick pickle became a brand after the pickles made by our ancestors, mothers and aunts centuries ago were appreciated by the public. We think that the most important feature that makes our pickle delicious is that the materials used in its production are produced in our district." he said.

Informing that they sell all over Türkiye, Demirbaş said:

"The market share of our Çubuk pickle, which we sell abroad, is increasing day by day. Our pickle has become indispensable on the tables of Türkiye as well as in 15 countries, including the USA, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and England. Our goal is to take the place of Çubuk pickle on the tables of all countries in the world, as it is in Türkiye, and to become a world brand."

Demirbaş stated that 80 percent of pickle production is made from cucumber, followed by cabbage, tomato and eggplant pickles.
