Guinness Record was broken with a crowd of 5 thousand people

Guinness Türkiye Representative Şeyda Subaşı explained the rules before the record attempt at Maltepe Event Area.

Folklorists from various provinces formed a horon circle with the slogan "Horon is ours".

Addressing the participants before the record attempt, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said, "Horon is ours, halay is ours, and the most important debt of all of us is to embrace everything that belongs to us in this land and to pass it on to future generations."

Stating that the colorful painting is one of the most beautiful paintings in Türkiye, Gül said, "May God always preserve our unity, integrity and brotherhood. I would like to take this opportunity to convey the congratulations and thanks of our President to those who contributed to this, and I offer my respects to all of you."

Hüseyin Güler, President of the Turkish Folk Dance Federation, thanked the stakeholders who supported him and said, "This is a very big organization for our country. This big organization will be the result of a lawsuit, it will be announced soon. It is one of the biggest organizations in which we will show the whole world how we are connected to each other and that we are one heart when we come together with our state and nation whenever we want. We protect our culture and past. We do not allow anyone to plunder culture here."

Güler also noted that they aim to break the "zeybek" record with 15 thousand people in Izmir next year.

Istanbul Governor Gül initiated the record attempt of 5 thousand costumed folklorists at the same time.

The folklorists played horon for about 3 minutes and then waited for the evaluation of the Guinness referees.
