Immigration break for Uncle Adem and Yaren's 15-year meeting
Wildlife photographer Alper Tüydeş said that the Yaren stork, the symbol of the rural Eskikaraağaç District on the shores of Uluabat Lake, reached Eskikaraağaç, a member of the European Stork Villages Association, during the migration season this year.
Stating that the Yaren stork and its family, which landed on Adem Yılmaz's boat for the 15th time this year, started their migration journey towards warmer countries, Tüydeş said:
"Uncle Adem called at noon and said, 'Yaren is nowhere to be seen.' He waited until it got dark, hoping that maybe she would return, but the other storks in the village were nowhere to be seen either. That's how we realized that they were all gone. Sometimes they would go at different times, but this year they all went at the same time. They are migrating towards African countries."
