The earthquake-affected farmer, who clings to life with his tractor, strengthens his production with state support
The house in Üçgüllük District, where Sinan Satmaz, his wife Nazlıcan, their children Seher, Ali Alparslan and Sera lived, was also affected by the earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
The house, most of whose columns were damaged in the severe earthquake, did not collapse completely thanks to the tractor located right next to it.
The family, who escaped unhurt from the heavily damaged house held by the tractor, stayed with their relatives for a while.
Sinan Satmaz saved his tractor, which prevented the complete collapse of his house, from the rubble with the help of the teams and had it repaired.
Continuing his farming activities with his tractor, which helps him hold on to life, Satmaz received soybean seed support with a 75 percent grant within the scope of the Enabling the Use of Agricultural Lands (TAKE) project carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Thanks to the support, Satmaz started to grow soybeans in an area of 50 decares, in addition to corn, wheat and parsley.
Satmaz, who uses a drip system on his land and sprays with a drone, plans to harvest the soybeans, whose production he has strengthened with state support, in October.
Sinan Satmaz explained that the disaster turned their lives upside down.
